Themes of civil rights struggle still resonate on MLK Day, 50 years later

ATLANTA — As the nation remembered and reflected Monday on the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., leaders and everyday Americans talked about how far the country has come in the past 50 years and how much more is to be done.

This is a day that every year we honor a great man who was a Republican. You didn't know that? Yes, it is true, he was a Republican through and through, and he was a big supporter of the concept of opportunity. Why doesn't the left leaning news organizations ever mention that he was a Republican? Yeah, you all know why.....

In the news today: Half of black men arrested by age 23. They were arrested because of their poor character, and not because of their skin color. MLK would be happy.

A national holiday for MLK??? For presidents okay, for veterans okay, for independence okay, for Thanksgiving and Christmas okay, but for MLK??? Not in the same league sorry. Should be revoked.

I see a whole lot of photo op... I am still waiting on Ellison and Paulsen to do anything on the airport noise issue... seriously even a note that your minions took notes at the meetings would be great! Hey I am offering a photo op in the IDS center tomorrow at noon sharp. I'll be there, take a pic with me. I am as ugly as you can imagine.
