You're not going to win many games giving up 94 points. Officiating was as bad as I've ever seen.

Iowa was the better team and deserved to win. And while it wasn't the worst officiated game I've ever seen, I just wish these Big 10 refs would let the teams play! They could stop calling ten ticky-tack fouls on each team and it would be such a better game! Nobody wants a free throw shooting contest.

This game was nothing like last years. The difference is Iowa, this year is one of the best teams in the country. This is the best team that the gophers have faced this year and I'll be surprised if they aren't a final 4 team. Last years Iowa team was good but nothing like they are now. Nobody is going to go into Iowa and come out with a win. They go a legit 10 deep and everyone of them can shoot all over the court. I'm not overly disappointed in this loss at all.

a good place to get out of before the stench hits you. I wouldn't even want to be from there.

Iowa is a good team, Final 4 I don't think so.

Not unexpected to get beat by this Hawkeye team on the road. I don't think Iowa is a top-15 team, but what they do they do pretty well. Some observations. B1G officiating this season is the worst I've ever seen. Yesterday's PSU-Purdue game went almost three hours and 45 fouls, in a game where neither team intentionally fouled at all. Today, just mystifying calls that seemed bad all around but definitely tilted in Iowa's direction. The mystifying part is the Gophers are slightly the quicker team, Iowa the slower team, and yet the slower team was allowed to hand check pretty much the whole game. Second, Austin, really critical turnover up late in the first half, but loved the dive play in the second. I thought our interior offense played well today, and if the striped shirts had called an even game we would have had many more FTs. King is also a liability on the floor; too aggressive at the wrong times. And where would this team be without Mathieu, the MVP up to this point. He got the shaft more than once too. That said, the first half was a glimpse of what this team is capable of, and it's better than I could have hoped for this season.

goldengopher: Iowa was the slower team and not worthy of being ranked in the Top 15? If this is the case, your alma mater must be terrible, eh?

I love Richard Pitino!!! I love Richard Pitino. Big ten champs next year! The Wisconsin game coming up for us will be an easy W at home.

Stat of the game. 2nd half points. Minnesota 30 White/Marble 33 MN bench scoring = 18. Iowa bench scoring= 43. Can't imagine what Iowa would do if they weren't so slow.
