Wind could delay Dome deflation

If the weather cooperates, the stadium’s iconic white roof will collapse slowly — and on camera. If it’s too windy, expect a delay.

Perhaps the hot air of e-pulltab revenues could keep the dome inflated.

When aren't winds over 5mph in January?

In the old days, time would be published and people would come down to see it. Everything is sissified nowadays.

My memories of the Dome: #1 Kirby's home run in game 6 ... still brings chills. #2 The 46 games I went to in 1987. #3 One too many $1 dome dogs ... haven't had a hot dog since.

(Kelm-Helgen said): “This is a construction site, and there are many safety issues,” Kelm-Helgen said, noting that a Saturday was chosen because there are fewer people downtown on the weekend. ---- If she is so concerned about safety, why doesn't she make it happen at 3:30am on a Wednesday morning? She got a raise for this kind of "choosing a Saturday" reasoning when people are not working and have the freetime to drive on down? Maybe she has to please the Wilfs by making it a recordable event?

In the old days, they would have let people inside to watch the deflation

It would have been very symbolic if they had deflated the dome on January 17 since that is the 15th anniversary of the 1998 NFC championship game.

Why not just slowly and secretly let all the air leak out, and when the thing goes flat, blame it on the Refs.

A 5 mph wind is a safety concern to stop a worksite? Seriously?? I have worked construction sites for over 15 years and not once had anything stopped for a 5 mph wind. Obviously this chairwoman is not from Minnesota. If you are going to stop work because there is "high winds" of 5 MPH, you would only work around 3 days out of the year in this state.
