Indiana grocery store shooting confirms police tactics to confront shooter immediately

INDIANAPOLIS — A deadly shooting at an Indiana grocery store this week could have been much worse if not for the quick actions of two police officers who relied on training that has become commonplace since the 1999 Columbine shootings.

The officers did what they were trained to do, and I'm glad it worked, but I have to wonder what the NRA's take on this will be. Will it applaud the quick, decisive action by the police, or will it stick to its guns (literally) and insist there should have been firearms already in the store, on the clerks, on the citizens or on both? After all, the NRA might say, that would have prevented the hostage situation in the first place.
