IT makes me laugh how the POHLADS can spend money on buildings.WHEN it comes to spending money every year to makes the TWINS a contender they dont.YES they spent money lately ,but they could be alot better than they are there lineup is pathetic.

One of the hot rumors in downtown Minneapolis is that the Pohlad family, which just spent some $40 million in remodeling the old Ford Center, might build a skyway from Target Field to the Ford Center and make part of the building into a museum..............hey Sid how about lobbying for the poorlads to pay for some big league talent on their team.

When our man Sid refers to Bill Parcells as a "football genius" I am assuming he is using it in the same context with which he has used the term "geniuses in the state legislature" in the past to refer to those people who balked at immediately approving every possible new stadium/arena idea in the past twenty years and who should have clearly done so, without hesitation, no matter the cost? Just checking.

Sad Sid column with no mention of our Gopher basketball team. What has happened to have so few mentions of them lately? Coach not a Close Personal Friend?

When Childress goes to Baltimore, I'd like to apply for the spread game analyst position in Kansas City.

If Zimmer is so great, why hasn't he been a head coach this past 20 years?

Sid, ever read your own paper. last week it was announced that Shapco is moving and Be The Match, national Marrow Donor Program is building a new building on that site.

All these quotes were from Parcells interview with Barreiro on KFAN

Sid was opposed the hire of Zimmer. I recall him pushing the hire of the OL coach. He also questioned what Zimmer has done to get the job and that he hasn't won anywhere. Most recently with the Bengals. Now I suppose he's trying to butter him up so that he can call him "a close personal friend."

Thanks iceman3 - I thought those quotes sounded familiar, as I often listen to "Bumper to Bumper". Sid is usually diligent about getting quotes in locker rooms and at press conferences. I wonder what gives - why he didn't get the quotes from Zimmer himself?
