Isn't he presumed innocent until proven guilty?

It sounds like this little girl may still be alive today had the mother pressed charges on him a long time ago. Drunk and disorderly conduct, past history of domestic abuse, and discharging a firearm in public, resulting in the death of his little girl. Oh yeah, you want him at the funeral. Get a clue, lady.

The man has not been convicted. He is in jail pending trial. If the defendant had $500,000 to post bail he could get out and attend the funeral. I don't see why he shouldn't be able to have a couple armed guards escort him to the funeral and back, at his own expense.

Nothing he can do for the little girl by attending the funeral. Nothing that he can do for himself at the funeral that he could not do in jail too.

Why are people like this allowed to have guns? Shootings are getting way out of hand. Multiple serious incidents every day now. Time to round up the guns and ban them. There are thousands, may be millions of loosers like this chap, out there with guns. We need a constitutional amendment.

The best argument for denying him comes from the judge: "...too many members of the public and some relatives are angry". It's just going to make things even worse if someone attempts to dish out punishment by shooting at him at the funeral, and hits two more innocent bystanders.
