It is this simple, when the life of your mother or sister or wife or daughter is in danger, do you want good old boys like Sam Brownback deciding her fate? I think the women in my life are far smarter than Sam Brownback ever will be and can decide for themselves the best course of action.

"Gov. Sam Brownback says Kansas has been called to be a national leader on moral issues, comparing past protests by abortion opponents in Wichita to the abolitionist movement that helped end slavery."

Yes, let's compare the protests of the "Reverend" Fred Phelps and his deluded minions at Westboro Baptist Church, Topeka -- the folks who brought disrespect and chaos at any number of funerals for fallen soldiers, claiming their deaths were a sign of God's wrath on America for permitting abortion -- with the abolitionist movement. Let's celebrate and encourage an environment that fosters that kind of thoughtful, high-minded approach to the issue.

Wisebook------every state has provisions that protect the mother if there are emergency situations. The problem is that 99.99% of abortions are done because the mother does not want to take responsibility for her own actions.

While I would never condone the killing of the Abortion doctor, I'm wondering why his death is more tragic than the deaths of the thousands of children that he caused.

avejoecon: "The problem is that 99.99% of abortions are done because the mother does not want to take responsibility for her own actions" ==== Seriously?? Can you prove that only 1 out of every 10,000 abortions is to keep the mother from extreme health problems?? I'd love to see this! Must be nice to live in a world where you decide what is fact and what is not.

Its pretty tough for anyone to deny the parallels between our nation's two most prolific subjects of shame, slavery and abortion. One day we will look back on the horrors of abortion with the same disdain we now feel about slavery.

While I would never condone the killing of the Abortion doctor.. Nor would I. I would much rather have seen Dr. Tiller arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced for crimes against humanity, similar to the Nazi's at Nurembourg.

""While I would never condone the killing of the Abortion doctor, I'm wondering why his death is more tragic than the deaths of the thousands of children that he caused.""----How did he cause them? Woman come to these clinics for reasons that we cannot know about and frankly are none of our business. They're doctors treating patients, and whether you like it or not, it is legal. Funny how you like to have everyone follow the laws you approve, but should be subject to violence for those you don't. Also, these are not children according to the law and science, since they are not viable outside the womb, and every time you try to move the goalposts, you get a smack from the supreme court. Which means that removing an embryo is on a different level than murdering a grown man. But I'm sure you know that, right? There are many thoughtful intelligent ways to deal with abortion, sex education, promoting safe and effective birth control, more parental involvement and so on. We do such a dis service to the children of this country by not teaching them to understand and be responsible, and if we tried, your side would be protesting like crazy.

Better if he used a handgun, then your precious second amendment would protect him.

"his death is more tragic than the deaths of the thousands of children that he caused.""----How did he cause them?"... I'm glad you asked. the procedrue knowns as late term abortions, correctly knows as "partial birht abortions" involves the delivery of he entire body of the child with the exception of the head. Sharp scissors are then used to puncture the base os ghe child's skull. A vacuum hose is then used to suck out the brain. Studies show that there is never a verifed medical need for this barbaric procedure. It made Dr. Tiller a very rich man,
