Great hire, and if they bring a Norv Turner to run the offense, one of this team's big weaknesses - coaching, suddenly becomes a strength. In the NFL, players win, great coaches win CHampionships. This guy has the pedigree, make up and experience. Speilman despite the Ponder miss has done a great job in bringing stability to this team and basically nailing the last two drafts. His biggest test comes in this draft, however, because this team is going no where without a franchise QB. My pick would be Manziel or Bridgewater if they are available. Otherwise take the best D player in the first round; and get Garopollo who may end up being the best QB in this draft.

Based upon what he has to work with and what he says he likes I expect the Vikes to stick with a 4-3 formation but an attacking 4-3 not a cover two defense. I don't think we will see a whole lot of DE dropping back into coverage like this year.

This is an interesting hire. Then again, Les Steckel was an interesting hire, for all the wrong reasons. Now many out there want a sure thing quarterback like Ted Bridgewater or Johnny FB. If the team wants one of those, they need to move up the board. Put AP on the trade block, and move up. AP has peaked, and his remaining great years will be wasted while the home team rebuilds slowly. Trade AP, and rebuild quicker. It will hurt to see it happen, but trading him is the smart move.

I am so keyed. What a refreshing change from the unadaptable, uncorrecting mistakes supergenius that Frazier was.

"If they find a franchise QB in the draft" is one helluva big IF. You know what helps a rookie QB quite a bit? The best RB in the NFL taking the handoffs. Stop with the trade Adrian talk already. He's the face of the franchise and no other team will take on his contract.

The names being mentioned as the best QB in the draft are all correct. But picking number eight means none of them will be there. You don't need to look too long at the needs of the teams picking before the vikes, and if that is not enough, you better turn around and take a look at who is drafting after you, that needs a QB and IF a decent prospect is still available after the first five teams have chosen, watch for some hungry NFL team to trade up, just ahead of the vikes, at six or seven, to steal the alleged franchise QB.

PS.. I don't want to trade Peterson either, but if the right offer came along, you would be foolish not to consider it. What team would give up a ton to get Walk... ahh Peterson? Who knows?

Finally have a coach who can match the Viking fans passion and intensity. Zimmer's a perfect combination of hard nosed with a soft touch. With years of frustration and disappointment while team after team passed over Zimmer for head coach he has something to prove.

And finally, for all you that have all the answers about the draft, got to ESPN and look at all the mock draft scenarios on their website for the last few weeks. And to see how credible the experts are, go back to last years mock draft, and see how close they came? Let's just say I wouldn't go to LasVegas with them.

The Vikings hired a very good coach, but lets not forget all the top coaches have something we don't Belichick (Brady), Payton (Brees), McCarthy (Rodgers), and Fox (Manning).
