If the Vikings are ever to return to being a dominant force not only within the division but the league then we MUST get back to being an aggressive ball hawking defense & Coach Zimmer has done that with the other teams he coached-Good and who knows maybe he can get out of Chris Cook the kind of play making ability he showed in college but under Frasier's leadership was never seen.

Attacking 4-3 unless he find 2 DE and a NT (Floyd is a 3 tech type tackle. In a 3-4 Robison becomes an OLB and Greenway moves inside that is a lot of moving parts for not a lot of gain. When you can run an attacking 4-3 and force the QB to get rid of it quick or take a sack.

With Greenway being adequate and Audie Cole having promise, the Vikings are short two linebackers from running a 3-4. They will also be short two decent linemen to run a 4-3, and not to mention only Rhodes and Smith in the defensive backfield looking like quality. O.K., they are 6 quality starters from being decent defensively...good luck with that!

IT was reported that Mike Singletary is leaving regardless. Singletary said. “I knew that this would be my last year as things were as linebackers coach. It’s time to move on. I just felt I had grown as much as I could here.” Truer words were never spoken, Singletary was a prime example of the Peter Principle. Good luck getting that next head coaching position Mike, you helped take down Leslie Frazier.

Speculation in Bengal-land that Michael Johnson will follow his beloved coach via free agency. That would give us a top-5 defensive end.

Zoilov, Robison moves to OLB as a rush guy in a 3-4 so you need 1 more LB and 3 D Line guys as Floyd isn't a 3-4 NT (so in essence you have wasted a first rounder by switching to a 3-4). Allen has said he won't play in a 3-4 and Griffin the guy we expect to sign won't sign for a 3-4 because he won't get the sack #s. Both of these guys have other options that would be more attractive than being a 3-4 DE.
