So...this guy served the same sentence he could get for a misdemeanor driving violation. And now he has to be good for 7 years? Just wondering how badly he needs to harm a child or his girl before he does any real time...I guess he is just misunderstood and needs some time to grow up...

Comment rules prohibit what my initial reaction to this story is. Suffice it to say I think it's a travesty of justice....

People get longer than that for possession of marijuana. The justice system in this country is so incredibly screwed up. That poor child doesn't stand a chance. Very sad.

OK, so the guy on the plane that hit the baby got 8 months in jail for a slap but the guy who causes a brain bleed and bone fractures in a 7 week old only gets a year?!?!?! Not defending the guy on the plane but how does this make any sense?

How do the people of Dakota County get this judge off the bench?? Where is the justice for that poor baby?? Why do these violent cowards who take out their frustrations on a little baby get to walk the streets?

Liberal judges...light sentances on serious crimes...we wonder why there this type of thing happens tims and time again. Rapists, child molestors, yeah, they all need rehabilitation...sure...

My guess is that this won't be the last time this loser is arrested for physically assaulting a woman or a child, and unfortunately when it does happen again the victim(s) will no doubt sustain even more serious and/or permanent injuries. All I can say is wow.

If you really care, write a letter to this judge...tell how how you feel.

The county attorney ought to appeal this case. And the Minnesota Bar Association ought to work to remove this judge. What a triumph of evil!
