This whole project stinks of corruption, back door deals, skirted and ignored laws. It is definitely not the will of the people.

The City, not the Park Board, built the Loring Greenway and Peavy Plaza so there is some precedent for public open space being under control of the City. The real issue is the City deciding on a park and then figuring they have no maintenance money so it must be a Park Board problem. Bottom line is that it is too late now. Keep electing looney anti-capitalist left who suddenly get giddy around billionaires.

Maybe if it's not operated by the park board they can put a fence around it like that apartment complex they're planning in Shakopee and keep the riff-raff out. Wouldn't want the average Joe hanging out in the rich guy's park, would we?

I wish they would stop calling this a park. It won't be a park. It will be 3 small grass lots separated by the mini-highways that are Park and Portland avenues.

City Attorney Susan Segal, at very least, should be in jail over the stadium thievery. Until then, keep the lawsuits coming.

Oh yeah, I'm sure it will be a park - with nowhere to sit - just like every other open space downtown.

Mpls could learn a lesson from NYC where the best, cleanest, and safest parks are the privately operated ones.
