Family of NM school shooting suspect offers prayers, condolences over 'awful tragedy'

ROSWELL, N.M. — The 12-year-old boy who opened fire on a crowd of students in a New Mexico middle school gym had planned the attack and warned some classmates to stay away moments before the gunfire rang out, investigators said Wednesday.

Huh...training and not an armed teacher helped end this assault?!? Who would have guessed?

cartoonconn - A teacher is a government employee and by all accounts their training and willingness to put themselves in harms way is what helped. Of course it also helps that the shooter didn't have an assult weapon with 30 rounds of ammo. If only all shooters used a shot gun with a plug limiting it to 3 shells.

Safe storage by the guns owner would have prevented this from happening. It's also fortunate that he only had three shells. The gun owner should also be charged in this but that depends on how the laws are in NM.
