At Wirth Park, a fresh coat of snow beckons

  • Updated: January 14, 2014 - 11:03 PM

Despite making a mess of the morning commute, Tuesday morning’s snowfall was just the ticket for outdoor enthusiasts, including this cross-country skier at Wirth Park. Snowfall around the metro area peaked at 5.3 inches in Stacy, the National Weather Service said. Wednesday — the meteorological midpoint of winter — is expected to warm into the mid-20s, but the windchill will make it feel more like minus-10. Hang on for Thursday and its predicted high of 30. By Sunday? Possibly 35 snow-melting degrees. Forecast, B8
