A leading Republican in the Minnesota House is introducing a new bill to allow Sunday liquor sales in Minnesota.

We already have Sunday liquor in Minnesota...just go to any bar or most restaurants. These AP writers apparently don't know the difference between 'on-sale liquor' and 'off sale liquor'. Now, the big liquor conglomerates are trying one more way to run the small store out of business.

Prohibiting package sales and auto sales on Sundays is archaic and foolish to continue.

I'd rather have them allow wine sales in grocery stores than have them worried about Sunday sales.

How about allowing supermarkets to carry wine, beer and perhaps liquor as many other states do as part of this bill, too?

While I applaud Rep. Loon's efforts to abolish laws that instruct people how to conduct their personal and business affairs, I find it ironic that she represents citizens in a city where the only permitted liquor stores are run by the local government.
