Zimmer: Absolutely. Has experience and tenacity, and knows how to make a dangerous defense. Bowles: If we are going for a younger guy, Bowles should be the choice. Good coach who is well liked by his players. Unfortunately, a young coach may mean he is a puppet for Spielman, which I do not want. We need them to work together, not one person doing everything. Quinn: An interesting choice, but with only one year as a DC under his belt and considering Carroll has a hand in most of the defensive play calling and that he has by far the most talented defense in the NFL at his disposal, it would be a risky choice. Roman: Absolutely not. Ask any 49er fan; he is not even an upgrade over Musgrave and any credit the 49ers deserve goes to Harbaugh. Roman has no versatility in his game planning, and really struggled the last two years despite having a very athletic quarterback and one if the best offensive lines in the NFL Bevell: Look at the offensive statistics for the Vikings from 2006-2008 and in 2010: average numbers AT BEST. No one should want him back in Minnesota. Gase: If not for the success of McCoy in San Diego (former OC for the Broncos), I would say this should absolutely not happen. But, he did HELP set a record breaking offense this year. However, he has one if the best quarterbacks of all time at his disposal, along with the most talented offense in the NFL. An interesting candidate, but really doesn't deserve it yet. Horton: A good choice based on his strong pedigree, but is very similar to Bowles and would likely not be chosen over him. Age could also be an issue here. Whisenhunt: Receives much more credit than he deserves for the Cardinals Super Bowl run (thanks Warner!), and really has no business coming here with Detroit (his favorite according to reports) still being open. We don't have a Stafford or Johnson on this team. Probably won't even interview him knowing due to these things.

#1 Quinn #2 Bowles #3 Bevell #4 Tomsulo #5 Gase. Go with young and innovative, not old "he finally deserves a chance, Zimmer"

Bowles, NEVER. Demeanor EXACTLY like Frazier. Don't want Frazier 2. Zimmer old? NOT (56 is now old? No, it isn't). Never been a head coach, so HUNGRY he is. Fire and tenacity? Needed here badly - haven't had that in nearly 3 decades here. Quinn? Maybe. Zimmer has a solid record - the others do NOT - fact. Resume counts.

The best coaching candidate apparently that isn't going to get an interview and who should be our new coach of the Minnesota Vikings which is "Brian Billick." On this list any monkey could see the best one is Zimmer without question. I won't complain but prefer Billick.

Zimmer reminds me too much of Romeo Crennel. Was on so many of those successful Parcells and Belichick coaching staffs in New York, New England. Defensive coordinator on multiple Super Bowls and finally gets a chance - TWICE at Cleveland and Kansas City. Was endorsed by both and you all saw the results.

Why is everyone so high on Zimmer? He is 57 years old and a career asst. He has been a DC for the past 14 years with 3 different teams and the total combined record of those teams (Dal, Atl, Cin) he was DC for was 101-122-1 in the regular season and 0-6 in playoffs. Another subpar head coach just like the last 3, Tice, Childress and Frazier. It never ends!

.......and not one PROVEN, WINNING head coach in the lot. Figures. Get ready for another 3 years similar to the Childress\Frazier regime.

I have zero confidence in Spielman making this choice. You also might notice that Jack Del Rio is not even on this list! Spielman must be concerned that he would get punched out if he tried to tell him who must play!
