Its easy to win games when you dont play anybody. Gophers can now beat all the lower tier teams but still havent made the step up to beating the top half of the Big Ten or even win a bowl game!

Seems to me that the Gophers won 6 games in 2012 and beat Penn State- a strong team, Nebraska(remember them), and a strong NW team at the time. That said, the Gophers really socked it to the fans by losing to Syracuse. They were an inferior team. No wins against strong teams in their conference. Yet the Gophers showed that neither of the quarterbacks can pass and the Offensive schemes were so poor. The defense also let us down. Losing this game reminded me of Glen Mason, who would get our hopes up, and then bomb the next game. Another thing this game reminded me of was Cal Stoll's laughable bowl game in 1977. Frankly, I don't think the team came to play against Syracuse and the preparedness was very poor.

What do you think he would say? That he expects to win less games - but they will!

gophers will continue to be the second best D1 football school in the region behind NDSU. NDSU finished ranked #29, sagarin ranked #21 NDSU would wipe the floor with gophers once again. Gophers will finish 5-6 next year, book it.

Those 8 wins include 4 creampuff teams, of course.

Lakes - NDSU is not a Divison 1 football school, sorry bud.

Wow, he expects them to be better. DUHHHHH. This team is rebuilding and unless they are better, they are regressing and Kill is NOT doing his job.

Gophers have so much of the team coming back and some really nice pieces waiting in the wings as redshirts. Recruiting is also going well. They'll continue to improve. It will be very difficult to go over 8 wins (counting a Bowl game, even) as the schedule is much harder, but I expect a third straight bowl game and 7 wins minimum. 3 tasty cupckae non-con wins (Eastern Illinois, San Jose State, Mid Tennessee State), NW, Purdue at home and Illinois on the road. Those are a winnable 6. Then they find 1 or 2 from @ TCU, @Michigan, @Nebraska, Iowa at home, @ Wisconsin (who lost like 22 guys, many of them key). Three of those games were at least competitive last year into the 4th (and Nebraska was a win, obviously) Ohio state is likely a loss

Well I hope things get better. Don’t get me wrong I like Kill but saying things are going to get better next year really isn’t saying much…it’s that what you are supposed to say, it’s what any coach should be thinking. I am very disappointed in how Coach handle the QB situation in the Bowl game. How do you instill confidence in someone when you barely give him a chance to play in the game. Nelson carried the team just about entire season I think he was out with an injury for a game. But Mitch has a good practice so you play him? Really? Competition for a position is one thing…before or even during the season, but when you get to the last game you should be going to the guy who got you there and that wasn’t Mitch. Nelson came here because he believed in Coach Kill’s system, I really wonder what he is thinking about that system now.
