The Twins hoped that Jack Morris would be headed to Cooperstown this summer. They have another destination in mind for him, too: Target Field.

I hope this happens. His insight is terrific and he has a terrific radio voice; he would be great to have up in the radio booth during games.

I think he'd be really good...either on TV and/or radio. But the Twins handled him him pretty poorly when they didn't renew his contract a few years back. Hopefully there are no hard feelings. It would be nice to get him back doing Twins games...maybe even replacing Dan Gladden on the radio side. Getting tired of listening to Gladden's call of the game, which is nothing more than story after story about himself.

When he left for Toronto I thought he was bitter with the Twins organization. For a guy who never was media friendly as a player, it's interesting that he's part of that he didn't like. Morris should see if he can find a job in Detroit where he spent most of his career.

That would be great. Someone like Gladden who tells it like it is without the sugarcoating. No kissa##.

scenic61, Thank you for your post that hits home with me. I also see this in Gladden. When he takes over his innings I switch the radio off as I cannot handle the non Twins game redundant stories revolving around what? Dan Gladden of course. Also, he makes toooo many grammatical mistakes as well as seeming to be largely inattentive regarding the game that is taking place. I remember hearing Morris on several different occasions and Jack is FAR SUPERIOR as an announcer than the Glad man will ever be.

Bring Jack back. I always liked listening to him. And sub Atterbury for Provus more often. Provus is dull. If it weren't for Gladden I'd never listen.

Didn't the organization dump him just a short time ago leaving some pretty bad feelings? Who's in charge over there these days? Do they really think it's cool to just keep screwing people over and then expecting them to come back? I'm still in shock that Kubel would come back here as I'm sure he had an option to sign elsewhere on a minor league deal equal to the one he got here.

Who cares. It's like hiring Emeril to put whipped cream on donkey doo. Doesn't matter who calls the game if there's nothing worth calling.

As a broadcaster, he's roughly average - not as good as Blyleven, comparable to Coomer, better than Gladden, much better than Frank Viola. To address the Hall issue - on some level, he's better off being "the best guy not in" than actually getting in. Yes, getting in is a great honor, but he'll get much, much more annual attention as the best of the snubs than as the 210th-best MLB player in there.

As far as I can tell with the moves made so far on the roster, the Twins will need some people that are fun to listen to calling the games cause they will lose a lot of games again this year
