I thought the usual suspects would be ranting and raving over this article. No posts yet. Too late to stop the stadium now, in any case!

"The Minnesota Vikings stadium project is about to..." --- I thought it was the People's Stadium?

That's $400 for every resident of Hennepin County (not including future debt service). Skol!

"How are the ePullTab profits stacking up?" --- That's a good question, are etabs raking in the cash like the company that sold them to us said they would? Maybe someone as astute as drudgemonkey can give us an update on how well etabs are going.

...and with *no* funding mechanism in place to pay them off. can't blame obamacare for this mess eh? A republican legislature teams with a dfl guv to pass a bill with no viable funding. Remove "vikings stadium" from the equation and ask both if they would pass a bill with no funding and see how they'd answer? A huge gift to a millionaire who doesn't even live here. who are they really working for?

garagewine, the bonds are backed by the credit rating of the state and the good faith and credit of the taxpayers. Remember when Dayton promised to not use general funds to pay for the state's portion? What a lie that turned out to be once the e-pull tabs crashed and burned like everyone with an ounce of common sense said it would. Dayton is a liar and needs to pay for it with his job.

How is the state planning to repay the bonds? They've already used the "one time" cigarette tax for the first year. What about the remaining 29 years. Are they still planning on the e-pulltabs?
