TRENTON, N.J. — A political dirty-tricks investigation of Gov. Chris Christie's inner circle broke wide open Wednesday with the release of emails and text messages that suggest one of his top aides engineered traffic jams in a New Jersey town last September to punish its mayor.

This will no doubt win him support among teapubs.. but will further alienate moderate republicans, independents and democrats. After this latest debacle.. it's looking more and more like Cruz/Paul 2016.. and thus, President Clinton.. thanks, Christie!!

Another politician who puts his own ambition ahead of whats good for the people. This case is extremely disturbing in that to make a point to a political rival the republicans not only made getting to work for many people extremely difficult but I am sure it cost many people a lot of money due to lost work time, all to punish someone from a different political party.

So Christie is just another weasel politician who cares more about the politics than the people. Big surprise.

Things like this are why I don't vote republican anymore.

First, this is total crap and unacceptable. Secondly, it's easy to see who votes how when Christie's aid does this it's "Christie did this." (which we don't know his involvement yet). If Obama's aides or administration do anything it's "The IRS's fault" or Benghazi debacle the "aide edited the talking points" Obama has nothing to do with it. I agree that Obama didn't have a hand in the IRS debacle or Benghazi, but you can't blame issues on aides if it's under the watch of a Democrat and the politician if it's under the watch of a Republican. Christie is about as honest as it gets for a POLITICIAN, whether you agree with his honesty or not. It's worth seeing the facts before you link a spiteful aide to the politician.

He is that last person we need for President - A fat Richard Nixon with his own enemies list and petty vindictive streak.

Put em all under oath and see who is really responsible for this and other actions in NJ. Fire those responsible, and big boy should resign.

bannedmuggsJan. 8, 14 4:46 PM

Gov. Christie - watch out. This is completely Obama, Chicago politics. Ruthless, cheap, and in bad faith. Ironically, the likely Democratic, Hilary Clinton has lied, faked health problems, and covered up an American ambassador being killed and the media has still refused to investigate. Let's worry about a traffic jam instead.

msimsi- do you know what Christie has done for NJ? He at least made them solvent again and corrected the ridiculous promises left by his predecessors. News Flash- You can't promise eternal pensions and health care to public employees when they pay 1/5 what the private sector does. Private businesses have tried pensions and they go out of business, file for bankruptcy, or file for bankruptcy and restructure their debt. He made the public sector pay roughly 2/3 of what the private sector pays and they still we upset. Where's my annual Pension starting at age 55 until I die!?!?
