..."like Arizona, Giffords' home state, moved in the opposite direction, passing a law that requires municipalities to sell weapons surrendered at buyback programs aimed at getting more guns off the streets instead of destroying them."---How stupid is that! What is the point of having a buyback program if they are required to put them back on the street!! Just plain stupid!

When I was in Junior high, I earned an NRA Safety Shoulder patch and went to the training sessions with my father and went deer hunting with the patch. Has the NRA achieved its modern goal? What is their goal? Go to the NRA.ORG home page as I have just done, you will not see a formal mission statement, only a mission statement as it relates to political action and donations to ILA. There are many tabs to click on,... membership, NRA Store, member benefits, events, history and NRA-ILA. Hunting info is buried, firearms collector shows are buried. NRA-ILA and articles by Chris Cox Executive Director of NRA-ILA(Institute for Legislative Action) are in your face asking for donations to the political action lobby effort and wanting your e-mail address for "alerts". You will also see an anti-Obama article to click on. Of course thin info second amendment hot button and tangential patriot articles with the NRA spin are also there. Gone are the days of promoting firearm safety in your family, hunting safety, proper storage and locking/securing/transporting your firearms and ammo. The NRA's NRA.ORG website is a political action page asking for money. Look for yourself at NRA.ORG. They take membership money and give back political agitation and skewed second amendment chatter. Gone is the promoting of family hunting traditions, safety, the sport of hunting, target shooting, hobbyists, and collecting firearms.

Without the NRA every gun would be banned besides single shot rifles and shotguns. They still support many local programs teaching youth to shoot. There wouldn't be much a point in teaching youth to shoot if Democrats had their way and confiscated all guns.

Giffords is not the "leader" of anything. She is a puppet for gun control groups. Any word that comes out of her mouth was put there by a panel of anti gun activists. "The NRA's NRA.ORG website is a political action page asking for money. Look for yourself at NRA.ORG. They take membership money and give back political agitation and skewed second amendment chatter. Gone is the promoting of family hunting traditions, safety, the sport of hunting, target shooting, hobbyists, and collecting firearms."----Wow, scathing review of an NRA website!

Slow news day? Third anniv of a shooting. Will they do the 4th, the 7th, the 9th? Would this be covered if it were Republican male congressman? Highly doubt it.

On March 30, will the papers cover the 33rd anniversary of President Reagan being shot?
