Lindsey Vonn’s right knee needs more surgery. She’ll miss the Olympics — and the Games will miss her — but supporters have no doubt she’ll be back.

Enough of vonn, no one cares, it's over.

chrisrealtor, Vonn is one of the toughest competitors in sport. I can't understand why people like you resent her. She actually skied a down hill (speeds of 70mph) the day after a bad concussion and wasn't able to remember the course, relying on her reactions to get through it. Compare that to Mauer and Morneau. The skill and athleticism requred to make those runs is unfathomable. Too bad you don't get the sport. Like it or not, it's big sports news for our state.

Amazing world class athlete and she got her start on little Buck Hill. Detractors do not have a clue.

I had my doubts that she'd be able to compete on the world class level after having a knee surgery. The body can only take so much.

Let's all agree that she is a terrific athlete, but can we also agree that because there is a "Minnesota connection" we may have had entirely too much news coverage of Vonn? Seriously - you'd think there aren't there any other US athletes competing in the Olympics.

Thank heaven we won't have to hear about Tiger Woods every day during the Olympics. I prefer coverage of athletes, not celebrities like Vonn and her boyfriend.

Read any stories about Michael Schumacher...non-stop. What about Favre when he was here. Or Morneau. Something else is going on here. Let me guess? She is a world recognized athlete. Look at her record and understand that. This is not just about MN...she is THE big name in female skiing. You will hear this over and over on the upcoming Olympics. What IS going on here...clearly not about athletics.

Who is going to be the ice queen of the Woman's US Ski Team now? I was so looking forward to watching Vonn treat her teammates like dog poo again this Olympics. Somewhere Tiger is super happy he doesn't have to travel to Russia.

She is a great skier on her own, but her actions in the Giant Slalom in Vancouver were some of the most selfish acts of sportsmanship I have ever witnessed. She was skiing just ahead of Julie Mancuso and crashed and broke her finger half way down the course. Vonn knew that Mancuso was going to be stiff completion and she was acutely aware that if she laid down on the course long enough it would ruin Julie's run. Sure enough Vonn laid down on the run with her broken finger refusing to get up. They started Mancuso's run with Vonn still on the course. Muncuso's time was running ahead of all the other competitors when she had to abort her run because of the selfish Vonn. It was blatant and obvious even to a layman's eyes that Vonn did this intentionally so Mauncuso would not get the gold. Go watch the video and judge for yourself. Your opinion on Vonn just might and should change.
