Good seats going fast at Metrodome

  • Article by: Jim Adams , Star Tribune

Phone calls — and lots of them — from nostalgic sports fans who have ordered more than 10,000 Metrodome seats are swamping the staff of a Fridley business that is removing and selling the chairs.

Too bad we had to have a union shop remove them to satisfy the political class costing us taxpayers even more. Pathetic.

My tax dollars entitle me to access at the "Peoples Stadium". Dayton assures me that if I like my stadium, I can keep it.

Perhaps these people who can afford to pay for these seats could spend an equivalent amount on electronic pulltabs to pay for the new stadium?

Perhaps those people that can afford to spend time complaining about other people and the whole stadium issue could afford to spend a few dollars on electronic pull tabs to pay for the new stadium.

Funny how even their computers get overloaded.

Another benefit from getting a new stadium, a great way of raising money for the non-profits! Nothing to complain about! SKOL!

I pick up my 3 seats Monday AM - woo hoo.

rastabeefJan. 8, 1410:35 AM

How many of these do you think will end up for sale at Twins Fest for 4x the price for the next 20 years?

The Wilfs have unwisely chosen to continue to fight a losing battle in court with the people they stiffed and, furthermore, will soon be paying for lawyers to find a way to make go away what the coaches did to Kluwe. I wonder if the players' union requires that the players receive compensation for their time spent testifying?

"...a great way of raising money for the non-profits!" --- Did I miss something in the article? Non-profits have to buy the seats. They do receive $20 off the regular price of $60, but they still have to buy them. Which also brought up the question of what is the SFAC doing with the $10 fee they receive for each seat sold, excluding non-profits? It sounds like the money they are making from the sale of seats is bringing in considerably more than etabs.
