NY set to allow limited use of medical marijuana; Cuomo will use administrative power, not law

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York would become the 21st state to allow medical use of marijuana under an initiative Gov. Andrew Cuomo will unveil this week.

When the rest of the states sees Colorado's tourism greatly increase and generates more tax revenue, many more states will follow. Alcohol causes more problems in our society than pot. The worst it will do is make some people more lazy and unproductive.

It's time Minnesota followed the 21 states that allow patients suffering from chronic and terminal illnesses to use the medicine their doctor thinks is best. Marijuana provides clear and documented medical benefits. Get the politicians in St. Paul out of the doctor's offices in Minnesota and let doctors and patients make treatment decisions.
