Better defense could help Gophers women reach NCAA basketball tournament

The Gophers were the Big Ten’s top defensive team in nonconference play, an area they struggled with last year.

Yes, better defense would in fact help. But today's beat-down by the Spartans (who shot 57% from the field and went 8-18 on threes) doesn't make me optimistic.
