Sid, you've lost it. Bevell? Please help us if they hire him. As for Frazier, if he still believes Ponder has a chance to be good, he doesn't deserve another chance. If we could get a 7th round pick for Ponder, I would jump up and down if I were the Vikings.

Frazier need to take the year off and think about years as Vikings coach before jumping into another job. Reflect a little bit. Little bit concerned that Frazier wants to make sure he's getting in a good situation. Hey, coaches go into bad situations and build it up.

That must have made you feel good when he said Ponder still has a chance to develop, huh? Oh man, wouldn't that be just super great if a new coach came in here and tried to give Ponder the ball again?! Why don't the new coaches in Tampa Bay make an offer for your guy? Did you ask him if he would want Ponder to follow him down there? I think he owes us something and taking him along would be proper retribution.

Maybe the Vikes should trade Ponder to a team like Tampa for a #3 draft choice, draft Johnny Football, Hundley or Bortles, dump Freeman and keep Cassel. Then draft defensive players with the rest of their choices, especially linebackers and a tackle.

As for the assertion that the Vikings would have been better off keeping Frazier? Did Tampa or any of the other teams talking to Frazier offer him a head coaching position? Thank you, no more questions.

Jack Del Rio, Josh McDaniels, Jay Gruden, and Mike Zimmer should be on the Vikings short list. Del Rio is the safest choice, but love the no-nosense Zimmer.

Another player in trouble is just another player that is a result of Frazers lack of discipline.

Ponder may well be the Vikings quarterback next season. That should come as no surprise to anyone who thinks. From a business perspective it is very smart. The skills are there, he just needs to trust them. I would prefer the draft someone who can sit for at least a year and learn. But Ponder will likely be part of the roster and at worst 50/50 that he will be the starter. Not sure they want to spend the money to keep Cassell. The reason they lost those six games was due to the defense, not the offense. The defense cost this team a ten win season, a division title and the playoffs.

Who wants to bet that Jeff Jones de-commits from the Gophers and opts to go somewhere else?

klide2 is correct. This team has no talent on defense. Few if any players on this defense would be playing on any of the playoff teams. You don't win many games giving up 30 points.
