Mike Yeo said he’s coaching to get the skidding team back on track, not to save his job.

I just hope Fletcher doesn't do anything stupid, like trade away draft picks. We aren't winning the Cup this year.

Yeo is a likable guy. But three seasons of pure mediocre to poor play don't warrant another lost season. Time to can him while there's still a hope to make the playoffs this year.

If I have to hear the players talk about "confidence" once more, I think I might lose my lunch. How about skating when you're on the ice? Try that. Try winning a race for a loose puck instead of gliding. The losses aren't in your head, they're in your legs.

The Wild should wait until their shot at making the playoffs is completely out of reach before firing Yeo. Why try to salvage a season halfway through and just a few points out of a playoff spot. Chuck Fletcher must be a real Narcissist if he believes Yeo is going to salvage this season. He has lost his players, they are listless and have developed dull personalities just like their coach. Rarely can this team muster more than two goals, usually only one. They should make a coaching change and a few player moves today. Fire Yeo, trade Koivu, release Heatley and Backstrom then trade for a Goalie who can spell/ co-start with Harding. Brodzniak, Rupp and Veilleux are also worthless! You are losing fans, time to act.

Team lacks talent. That is on Fletcher. I wish Fletcher would fire himself. Firing Todd Richards did us no good. So Fletch, who should this years scapegoat be?

Let's go Sabres!

“He’s moving well, he’s battling hard, he’s involved in creating some scoring chances every game.” -- Good Lord, the Wild have hired Ron Gardenhire. Brodziak is a mystery to me. Other players get sat down when they don't produce. Brodziak hasn't scored since the earth cooled and that doesn't seem to be a problem.

So Yeo saves his job if he somehow can manage a win at home over the lowly Buffalo Sabres. Gosh, that's a lot to demand out of the boys. And if the Mild can prevail over the Sabres then there's a huge exhale, a sigh of relief, and everything is "hunky-dorey"? I certainly hope the bar is set higher than that. Right now the bar to achieve is set so low that Yeo has been tripping over it.

Later Yeo!

I loved the Mike Yeo hire so it's a shame it hasn't worked out. He'll be fired and there's not much of an argument that can be made to the contrary. gut tells me Yeo will be a very good NHL head coach one day and will enjoy a lot of success. My worst fear is that he'll turn into a hockey version of Bill Belichick and the Wild will be the Cleveland Browns who let him go.
