jpcooper, If Obama and his democrat pals get their way, at least until the Nov. elections. They are gonna need as much help as they can get to buy elections with Obamacare being exposed for the idiotic bill that any intelligent person knew it was/is.

The Democrats won't need to buy any votes as long as the Tea Party keeps pushing the Republicans to the extreme right. Any Republicans that figure this out get labeled RINOs and are squeezed out of their own party

THREE MONTHS. Is that a joke. Really? Does he have knowledge that he refuses to share. What happens in 3 months. The first time it was suppse to be temporary. What makes he think the American people are stupid enough to think THIS time it will be temporary. Oh, wait, why does he think Americans are stupid, he knows they voted for him!!!

Republicans would agree to the $26 Billion dollar unemployment extension if Democrats could reduce the same amount of spending from the $3.6 Trillion that the federal government spends this year. But Democrats can't find anything to cut. So they are demanding permanent tax or fee increases to pay for the one-time increase.

More than 1 million Americans lost jobless benefits last week. White House economist Gene Sperling says restoring the benefits would not only help those individuals, but also lead to the creation of 200,000 jobs and economic growth. - Please Gene, show us the math on a nice little chart. Explain how it works. Where will these jobs come from? If the government spending money creates so many jobs, why are there so many people out of work? AP pieces are puff at best with only hot air holding them up. Laughable, just like the Strib.

I've heard this claim a number of times now, so I'll finally ask about it. How does extending unemployment benefits add jobs. The claim here is that 200,000 jobs will be created. How? Are we adding that many government jobs to help process payments? I really don't understand. It should be just the opposite - end the benefits and more people will all of a sudden find a job.

They are gonna need as much help as they can get to buy elections..............It was the anonymous GOP billionaires that wasted their non-candidate category donations courtesy of Citizens United in 2010 spending $100M. And spending $120M in 2012 that got zero bang for the buck results for Romney/Ryan. This current unemployment payment issue is a non factor for the budget and even the 2014 elections let alone 2016.

"How does extending unemployment benefits add jobs." -- it's math... a concept teapublicans have fundamental problems with. A million Americans losing $x in benefits = x% drop in GDP... x% of GDP = x jobs
