I agree. "One week less to shop" might be as asinine a statement as you'll find in today's newspaper.

Count the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. There was one less week to shop with all the "special" deals.

While this year there was 1 less week between Thanksgiving and Christmas the real reason for weak holiday shopping is a poor economy and uncertainty about healthcare coverage, premiums and new taxes.
