WASHINGTON — Only hours before the law was to take effect, a Supreme Court justice on Tuesday blocked implementation of part of President Barack Obama's health care law that would have forced some religion-affiliated organizations to provide health insurance for employees that includes birth control.

@formergop: Did your read the article? It is you and the government trying to tell us what to believe and what to do. We will not comply. These are real sisters! Real Catholics! God bless them! We will not comply with this evil mandate.

Utter blackmail by the RCC. The default plans - with contraception - are actually less expensive than plans without contraception. The whole signature thing is a PR stunt concocted by the RCC and a church-friendly insurance carrier.

Catholics need to get themselves in order before telling others what to do.---------what is out of order with the Catholics. And, they are not telling you want to do. They are trying to prevent YOU from telling THEM what they have to do.

Justice Sonja Sotomayor should have excused herself from voting on this bill in the first place due to a conflict of interest. But when she did not, it would have been nice if she could have at least upheld our Constitution like she agreed to do when she was sworn in. We would not be in this mess.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor was an Obama appointee. Imagine the left's confusion when she ruled the way she did. Must suck to have a sense of right and wrong.

I guess the ruling is based on the fact that only 75% of Catholics use birth control vs. 100%? I thought religious organisations were already exempt, except for Hobby lobby.

I don't think they should have to provide it. People can work someplace else if not getting birth control is a significant enough issue for them. Real Catholics don't use birth control anyway, right?

How many Roman Catholics do you know who have 15 kids? The ones who don't most likely use some form of artificial contraception. Oh! or abstinence. The RC church needs to pull itself out of the middle ages.
