US stocks rise on the last trading day of 2013

NEW YORK — The stock market closed out a record year with more all-time highs on Tuesday, giving U.S. indexes their biggest annual gains in almost two decades.

Conventional wisdom may be otherwise, but the economy more often chugs forward when Democrats are in the White House (the Carter years not withstanding). You can look it up, almost every economic indicator more often is better under Democrats than Republicans since at least 1960s.

truthtime, investors look ahead to future earnings, not the past or the present. They base their investment decisions on future expectations, hoping the economic climate will get better when the republicans regain power. It's not a coincidence that the market has risen in direct proportion to Obama's falling poll numbers!
