Mexican sales tax hike is seen driving consumers north, boosting US border cities

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — Mexican license plates are common in parking lots of shopping malls in U.S. border cities. They will be even more familiar after Mexico raises its federal sales tax in border regions to match the rest of the country, say merchants and shoppers.

Well a nation sales tax is needed! The underground economy thrives in that country. And that is another reason why we also need a small national sales tax. Mostly to offset the healthcare in the USA! To many people not paying in and taking advantge.
