Always amazing how the liberal strategy always seems to be "Buy the Votes"...

The liberal policies are driving us down to third world status... So to draw attention away from their failed policies, they always buy off certain segments of the population to get their votes.

And unfortunately our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc will be paying and suffering from these gigantic payoffs and deficits long after we are all gone and buried...

totaltruth: "And unfortunately our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc will be paying and suffering from these gigantic payoffs and deficits... " ==== An increase in the minimum wage does not affect the deficit except to reduce it. The more people make from work, the less they rely on Medicaid or other safety nets. In fact, it would result in more consumer spending and more tax revenues. So to suggest that helping the poor and middle class achieve a reasonable standard of living is a "gigantic payoff" is a total lie.

guessagain----------You do realize the more you require small businesses to pay more, the less they hire and the more they get rid of. Therefore, you encourage MORE entitlement usage, which Does cause more debt.

A minimum wage increase could be the answer but a better solution to reduce unemployment and increase wages would be to stop flooding the US labor market with cheap foreign labor.

Why can't you understand that the more people have to spend due to higher wages, the more goods and services have to be produced. Therefore business must hire more to meet the demand. More taxes are paid and there is less dependence on government programs.
