Libya detains, then releases 4 US military personnel after incident at checkpoint

WASHINGTON — Four U.S. military personnel investigating potential evacuation routes in Libya were taken into custody at a checkpoint and then detained briefly by the Libyan government before being released, U.S. officials said Friday night.

Kicking out and killing Gadhafi and importing and installing Al-Quaeda was always going to be problematic. But clearly spreading chaos and violence across the Middle East is the ongoing US policy in that part of the world. Has been for decades.
