The Vikings value Everson Griffen for his versatility, but he’ll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

With Allen leaving Griffen will be signed and step in nicely.

I don't know why the Vikings would let him go. He's got a lot of potential, he's still young and we need to use a draft pick on a tackle, not an end.

Griffen will be in huge demand with 3-4 defenses. A savvy GM would have signed him last year rather than sticking with Allen and his $11.5 million salary and $17 million cap hit. Vike's coaches ability to evaluate talent non-existent after Patterson's on the bench half the year, Ponder plays for three years, their best middle linebacker Cole is third string and cut and Rhodes, a stud man-to-man defender, is stuck in zone coverage most of the year.

I'm sure Griffen wants to test the free agency market now. The Vikes dragged too long on this one. He could play well in a 3-4 or a 4-3 defense up front so he could have a good time with his agent just waiting for the calls from other teams. He'll be in demand and he'll be overpaid by some team now whether it's the Vikes or whatever team. He's in a perfect position to be overpaid.

Frazier stays, b/c the Viking' brass is so inept at EVERYTHING. Griffen gone.

Just another example of the poor depth chart decisions of this coaching staff. Not starting Griffen, Floyd, Cole, and Patterson until late in the season if at all demonstrates their inability to evaluate talent. They must go!!!

Poor player personnel management, poor use of talent, poor roster management. Just another gift from Spielman and Frazier. One will be gone Monday. Too bad it will only be Frazier. I will never attend another game or buy a scrap of purple merchandise as long as Spielman runs the team. I would suggest other Vikings fans do the same.

This guy needs to be resigned. This coaching staff just is poor at evaluating talent. If they let him go and he shines elsewhere I would fire the G.m.
