The 2.6-mile, $120 million-plus project is a “necessary connection.”

Notice it takes a Democratic Governor to make things happen in this state. This is so LONG over due. The state has a surplus and the school districts are getting their money back which the state under Gov T-Paw syphoned off, and now the highways are being built and hopefully the bridges are being inspected.

WHEN THE BIDS COME IN for work on this project, we can all hope that Mr CHIGLO over at MNDOT takes thw LOWEST bid instead of the HIGHEST bid like he has done on other projects.

And then when does the bottle neck on I-94 out by Rogers get addressed?

It's already a bottleneck on westbound 94 and they are going to add another entrance. Especially cabin weekends. Seems like a mistake.

We've been waiting for that last 2.5 miles for years. 25 years for the whole project. What a joke! If this had been the south metro, it would have been finished as a single project over the course of a couple of years.

How about some more light rail?

Current and future citizens using 610 should be concerned that there is no median rope/chain between 169 and 252. MNDOT needs to get this 2.5 mile stretch in their budget before the influx of traffic from Hwy 94.

railroad - "it takes a Democratic Governor to make things happen"? You are completely misinformed. Mark Dayton had NOTHING - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - to do with getting this project done. All he did was announce the funding. I live in Brooklyn Park and this project has been worked on for many years - LONG before Gov. Dayton. Read the article: State Sen. Warren Limmer, R-Maple Grove, said area legislators from both parties had cooperated for more than 20 years in co-authoring bills seeking 610 funding. “I started only maybe 25 years ago,” he said, chuckling. “610 has been the bane of all of our existences. We are delighted to have major movement in the right direction,” he said. “It looks like we are almost getting the final leg complete.”

About time. Do it right though. Get the extra funding for the bridge and ramps and get it done once and for all. To do otherwise would be a major mistake. Also, hoping for a light rail line going up to Rogers as well. Hopefully the NW Metro will finally have the transportation resources it needs.
