Yep, the good old Leddy trade. And based on the total lack of progress this team has made under Fletcher, it is pretty clear that Fletch still has no idea how to build a winning team. He has had enough time to build a roster along with improving the AHL team, and as of today, both STINK!!!

We should all be happy about the Leddy/Barker trade. Good to see a hometown kid have this success instead of toiling around on the perpetually awful Minnesota Wild.

The Wild have a Leddy, except he's a right-handed shot, but plays more minutes. Spurgeon. And neither one worth a darn in the defensive zone.

That trade was bad alright, remember our old version of Ryan Suter- Kim Johnson was in that trade as well, as soon as our old minute muncher was thrown in on that trade with Mister Leddy for MA BARKER, the team fell apart for the rest of that season..... I know Johnnson was in the last year of his contract but the team was not out of the playoffs at that stage of the season when the trade was made, they were after Kimmy was gone......... The point I make is this, the management of Leo and Fletch did not have a sense of urgency to win that season and they obviously are not doing what they need to do now, Keeping Koivou and Parise together is an example of this, their bad results together have been talked about recently by Mister Russo, its really obvious that the results don't justify them playing together

I am not saying they should not be playing together EVER, These guys have been glued together literally with the team not scoring goals, these guys are leadership type guys capable of adding offense, move them around especially when injuries happen like with Grandlund, etc

Yeah, but we had Cam Barker.

Leddy is the third leading scorer (5-13-18) for D on the Blackhawks team. Only Koivu (7-20-27), Parise (15-12-27) and Pominville (17-9-26) are Wild forwards with more points than Leddy. Suter also has (0-22-22) D. Koivu and Parise are tied for 54th in scoring in the league. You can sugarcoat it all you want but the numbers don't lie over the long haul. The Wild are not getting the most bang for their buck at this time except Suter.

mgalaforetDec. 26, 13 9:32 AM

Leddy averages 3 seconds per game on the penalty kill. You might want to re-read that. Also, even with him only being behind Keith in PP minutes per game, his averages third pairing minutes per game. So what does that mean? He's a defensive liability.

Leddy's fans have every reason to be happy for him. He has done well and his team has obviously done even better. Not a Wild issue anymore - If you keep this guy listed as a Wild issue then you are living in the past. I'm pretty sure the Wild's place in the standings would still be the same if Leddy was on the team. The problems run a lot deeper than the Wild D-men. Some obvious changes are facing Fletcher and Leipold right in the face and if they don't address those in the next few weeks then they are jeopardizing alienating the fans ...again.. and also will be have very divisive team issue on their hands. Should be interesting....
