Don't forget that MANY of the major drug stores will be open 8 to 6. No Pharmacy service however. Gas stations open and the police and fire are open for business.

Yes, supervon2, many drug stores are open AND some of them do have pharmacy service. I know some Walgreens have 24-hour pharmacies every day of the year. Also, not all gas stations will be open.

Boycott these businesses! America IS a Christian country, Minnesota is a Christian State and Minneapolis IS a Christian city! Any business that is open on Christ's birthday is anti-Christ and should not get our support. I bet you these businesses force their employees to say "Happy Holidays" instead of Merry Christmas! These are the businesses and people that we are warned about on Fox News! Yes Minnesota, there IS a war on Christmas! And one of the battle grounds is these businesses! Fox News says the war on Christmas is going on everywhere. It's time all of you joined God's Army (our Republican Party) and stand with us (and God) on this unholy War on Christmas!

horsefeather, but according to your standards it's perfectly OK to surf the web and criticize others on Christ's birthday??

Definition of "Internet Troll" will find horsefeather's post. Obvious plant as even deluded types who actually believe this drivel wouldn't cite FOXNews or the Republican Party. Besides, every edumacated person knows that Jesus was NOT born in December...more likely April. Furthermore, should EVERYONE simply cease working on holidays? No electricity. No gas for heat. No medical assistance. No police. No TV or radio (even if you could get some juice). Ignorance. Simply enjoy the day without bitterness and everyone is better off.

This is not Christ's birthday. in about 200 C.E., a Christian teacher in Egypt makes reference to the date Jesus was born. According to Clement of Alexandria, several different days had been proposed by various Christian groups. Surprising as it may seem, Clement doesn’t mention December 25 at all. Clement writes: “There are those who have determined not only the year of our Lord’s birth, but also the day; and they say that it took place in the 28th year of Augustus, and in the 25th day of [the Egyptian month] Pachon [May 20 in our calendar] … And treating of His Passion, with very great accuracy, some say that it took place in the 16th year of Tiberius, on the 25th of Phamenoth [March 21]; and others on the 25th of Pharmuthi [April 21] and others say that on the 19th of Pharmuthi [April 15] the Savior suffered. Further, others say that He was born on the 24th or 25th of Pharmuthi [April 20 or 21].
