I wonder where any of these restaurants are? And if any of these have been featured before maybe there could be links to those articles?

It would have been nice if the article would have told a little more about the restaurant for those of us that have never heard of it.

How about an address or two? And what criteria were used to make this the restaurant of the year? What was it about the restaurants and their food, service, atmosphere made them your choice? I can share one opinion: this article is one of the *worst* I've read in the STrib all year. It falls flat on details and doesn't do justice to the restaurants that are named. C'mon STrib folks - what's it take to write an informative article? Or should we just chalk this one up to Holiday exhaustion?

Really....of the year? Food isn't that great. They are doing steaks and pizzas. Plenty of places I can get a better steak at than this place and wood fired pizza doesn't keep up with punch or any other places.

The Burch is a fine restaurant as long as you aren't interested in carrying on a conversation while you eat. It is so loud that the best part of the dining experience is returning home and sitting in silence for an hour or two.

The dining room is deafening, but that is really the only drawback to Burch. The address?? C'mon folks. Look it up. The subtle ways every item is tweaked as compared to more traditional fare is what makes Burch great. And the service is impeccable. Go check it out if you haven't already. Easily restaurant of the year for the metro area.

This choice shows once again that whoever spends the most money on a place gets the critics' approval. Too loud. Overpriced. Food not that great. Not a restaurant of the year by any stretch.

I've been to Burch, was really happy with the food and the service. The main courses were just "very good" but the appetizers we shared were incredible. One word of advice though - don't sit anywhere near the door during the winter, the cold air rolls in and into the dining area and will freeze you. Especially when the valets hold it open for a long time for a crowd of people entering or leaving. I won't make that mistake again.

Been there. Won't go back. Over-priced, waaaay too noisy. Eight of us crowded onto a table meant for 6 - and we had a reservation. Food just OK. We can get a better steak at places where we can also enjoy each other's company.

Disappointing choice. I echo the negative assessments from above - over-priced, noisy, underwhelming food. Not to mention the valet service in the rear is terribly placed and an accident waiting to happen with cars whipping around the turn from Franklin. Bad restaurant, worse article.
