WASHINGTON — Last year, while Jake Sullivan was traveling with his boss, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, he quietly disappeared during a stop in Paris. He showed up again a few days later, rejoining Clinton's traveling contingent in Mongolia.

Shutting down the very first diplomatic negotiation with Iran in history is foolhardy and stupid. Just as the overwhelming vote for invading Iraq was. The very FIRST thing to do is attempt to use diplomacy rather than war and it's unthinkable to me to position war or the potential for war over diplomacy based on "We just can't trust Iran". I'm sorry, but they've already agreed to reduce nuclear operations along with daily inspections. This worked in Syria, and we must at the very least pursue this.
