Pa. pastor defrocked over son's gay wedding offered position by Calif. Methodist bishop

PHILADELPHIA — A United Methodist pastor from central Pennsylvania who was defrocked after officiating his son's gay wedding was invited by a California Methodist bishop to serve in her region in yet another sign of a split in the nation's largest mainline Protestant denomination.

What kind of a person would file a complaint over a minister officiating his own son's wedding (especially since it wasn't at the church, but in another state)?? It's a pretty safe bet that anyone forced to choose between their son and their church is going to (and should) side with their son. Showing love and support to one's child has got to trump a church rule.
