I think he has been the best mayor Minneapolis has had in my life time. In fact I can't think of another mayor who has worked so hard while appearing to have a great time. He's caring, fun, and has done a great job for Minneapolis. I wish him the best!

After he arranged the end run of the City Charter to deprive the citizens of Minneapolis of their right to vote on the stadium issue, he promised the referendum would take place when he stood for election in 2013. Obviously, with no major office openings in sight, he wanted to avoid a defeat on his record when he chooses to run later. For all who opposed public funding of the stadium, and the manner in which he prevented us of our legal right to vote on the issue, never forget this when he runs for office in the coming years. That will truly be the referendum he promised us.

I've been very critical of Rybak. In fact, I think he could have negotiated a much better deal on the Vikings Stadium. But, I must commend him on his accomplishment of the Downtown East project. That project makes it much easier to swallow the Stadium financing. It's not perfect, but it could do wonders for that side of the city. Minneapolis is ready for population expansion and his work will help set the course. I also greatly respect his commitment toward gay rights. I am glad to finally say he did a pretty good job.

Rybak has been a major disappointment to Mpls. Let's hope better times are ahead.

Great mayor. There are so many great things he did. I liked his goal to end homelessness. I expect that no one remembers this, but I hope he is really proud of that.

I see the Strib is still kissing up to Rybak for getting the stadium built next to their land.

"...and made it his business to show up as many places as he could."------ Where was he when there was the issues with the Martin Sabo bridge? Not only was there no appearances, there wasn't even any statement from him.

He lost sight of what matters in his last years in office. A mayor who makes maintaining basic services like public safety, fire, and infrastructure maintenance deserves praise. Rybak developed a utopian complex in his last years, and stomped all over his own charter to help hand over tax money to couple of crooks. The property tax increases were absurd in the last years, and Rybak seemed too concerned about "livability" rankings, which really mean little when your citizens are over extended with a higher cost of living, high property taxes, and poor infrastructure.
