Rosenblum: Metrodome indoor running tradition ends after 31 years

On the day after Christmas, you’ll find Rick Recker where he is every Tuesday and Thursday night from November through March. That would be the Metrodome, where Recker greets hundreds of grateful runners coming in from the cold to de-stress and run in their shorts — always for a buck.

Congrats to Rick on a job well done! The world would be a much crappier place without folks like Rick that step up and create something to benefit the many. I wish you well always, Rick! Thank you!

That's right, the piece of junk Metrodome is 31 years old; it is time to tear it down. Wait a minute, my house is 50 years old. Hmm.

The new stadium will charge the runners $5. The Wilf boys need to make a profit.

Thanks for writing about this. I for one will really miss having a warm, well lit place to run the next couple of winters. Thanks to Rick for coordinating such a great service for the community.
