Sounds like a great time

Hunted at Gold Meadows for training my dog when she was a pup. Its just killing. Because of Ethanol wild birds are doomed. We are now back to where we were before CRP came on the landscape never to return unless we do the right thing and get rid of the boondoggle which is ethanol.

I've never hunted until doing game farm pheasant hunting at Rice Creek in Little Falls. NOw I've gone back repeatedly having a great time. What a great way to preserve the tradition, still make it challenging, and provide a way to fund the continued hatching of the birds. Try it won't regret it.

I recall a game club where ducks were forced up a ramp in their pen to fly down to a pond a hundred yards away where they knew there was grain. The stealthy "hunter" would hide behind a barn midway and blast the "wild" ducks as they flew by. Essentially skeet shooting with live animals. This would be followed by pictures of the 'hunters" holding their "game", beaming proudly. For some odd reason, the pen, barn and pond never appeared in the photos.

There are few things more pathetic and disgusting than forcing animals into a specific area to be killed by oh-so-proud people with guns. How sad that anyone would ever stoop so low. Please, never again refer to there places as "Hunt" clubs. There is no hunting whatsoever.

Like it or not, this is probably the future of upland game hunting. I've hunted pheasants and quail for 50 years...and this is the worst I've seen in. I live in rural Mn and driving around I rarely see a pheasant. I remember the days when we hunted west of Morris and it was not unusual to flush 25 or 30 birds in one drive through a cornfield. Now we have less habitat, farmers pick the crop, plow the stubble under, and spray, all in just a few habitat, no food, what do you expect.
