Mr. Helgeson, thank you for an interesting article. In her complaint about MNSure, state senator Karin Housley (R-St. Mary's Point) wants to call a special legislative session, but "she did not offer concrete solutions for legislators to consider." And therein lies the real problem with republicans on this issue. They are quick to yell "repeal and replace," but NEVER offer any ideas of what to replace it with. Here's your chance Republicans. Please don't answer with yet another complaint, but instead provide us with some concrete solutions. Without any, your call for a special session on MNSure is regarded for what is really is, namely grandstanding.

I'm curious why after almost 70 years of debating the healthcare question the right has no solutions? Seriously, the increases in health costs are completely unsustainable. You cannot year after year average a 10-15% increase in health care cost. Employers are all beginning to go do HDHP's {high deductible plans} and 20 years from now the healthcare system in general would have been unaffordable for all except the very wealthy. This can work but evidentally the left waited 20 years too long to decide the rights ideas were actually good. Yes, the ACA was originally an idea from Newt and Bob Dole circa 1993. Finally, if you're 22 and don't want to pay for health insurance then fine but why should I be legally obligated to carry auto insurance to help cover for your speeding tickets, DWI's and accidents. I haven't had an accident in 20 years of driving so let me cancel my auto insurance and we won't make you carry health insurance.
