Kids who beat cancer face adult health problems early

Because radiation and chemotherapy can take their toll, young survivors later may face health problems. These “late effects” include early illnesses of old age and premature frailty.

For osteoporosis from steroid treatments, take calcium carbonate (antacids). Age 45 seems to be on the mark when the bones start aching for attention, as in my case (childhood cancer survivor).
