Every game I watch I like Richard Pitino more. 2 players in Malik Smith and little Dre that he brings in carried this team to a big win against a real good Omaha team. This is going to be a fun year and I expect this team to surprise alot of teams in the BIG this year. Without bringing in Richard Pitino this year, Omaha would have beaten us handily. Great job tonight by the whole team. GO GOPHERS!

Love this team. Very fun to watch. Lots of weapons and lots of hustle. Poor Maverick Ahamisi is still struggling. He needs to quit over thinking and just play basketball. Get in the flow bro.

It's going to be a very interesting next few years for the Gophers sports programs. They have never had a better group of coaches for their teams and have you noticed the lack of police report mentions about the student-athletes also.

I am hoping for the best.... but I am not jumping on any bandwagons yet; just watching them roll by.... When we finally get into the big 10 season, then I will start paying closer attention. Sorry, buy I am a Minnnesota fan and it takes quite a bit to prove yourself to me. It's a defense mechanism required of all Minnesota fans in all sports.

Poor defense, poor press, they get beat off the dribble all the time. I am now down to 5 Big ten wins.

I really enjoyed watching the Gophers play a very good and fast opponent last night. The team will be fun to watch this season even if they don't get many wins in conference play as the smart guys are predicting. Walker was out of his element last night against a fast moving big men not unlike he will encounter in conference play where he may well prove to be a liability.

Nobody knows what's going to happen in the Big Ten except that RP will have them playing to win and it will be a fun team to watch. Like I said before 2 years from now we better have him signed to a long term contract or we will lose him. It would be nice to know that RP was going to be our coach until he retired.

I remember a lot of posters on this site complaining about all the guards Pitino was recruiting for this year. Now I see why he wanted Smith and Mathieu, both very good players. They may not win the Big 10 this year, but I am sure they will be very entertaining and competetive. Good recruiting job on short notice coach, can't wait to see who you bring in for the future! Go Gophers!

I was worried before the game as well as during the game, but the guards prevailed against an under rated visitor. King Richard can coach

Very entertaining game to watch. We finally have a true PG who does a great job of breaking down the defense by getting into the lane for his shot or a kick-out to a shooter. Mathieu must stay out of foul trouble, however, as they revert to Tubby-ball when he's on the bench. Oto, Mo, Mav and Joey were simply terrible last night as this was a game of quickness and fast-paced action. The one good rebound Mo got was immediately negated by his errant pass for a turnover. But with four guards and Elliott, they took care of the basketball and out-paced a very fast-paced opponent. Solid games from all five who scored in double figures, shared the ball well (assists), reduced turnovers, and made big plays when they had to. The put-back dunk by Austin was spectacular. Go Gophs!
