Another one of The Dolphin Destroyer Spielman's blunders. Simpson is worthless and over paid. Fire Spielman!!!!!!

Simpson is worthless???? First of all the QB for the majority of the past 2 seasons can't throw the ball down field unless it's a fly pattern, how is that Simpson's fault. Simpson has been great when the ball has been delivered. He's willing to sacrifice his body and takes more big hits then any Viking received I can remember in recent history. Off the field the guy is one of the most charitable people in town. He's always volunteering his time whether it's a Vikings sponsored event or not. Anyone that knows him outside of the organization will tell you he's one of the nicest and most thoughtful guys you could meet. I've only met him once, at a non-Vikings sponosred charity event for the homeless, and he was great! If you question his effort and his ability you haven't paid much attention the past 2 years.

Hardly "useless". His stats are comparable to Steve Smith and James Jones for less money. And as pointed out above this is in spite of having Ponder as his QB for a season and a half. And he puts it out there every game. Are there better receivers? Sure. But they cost money, and the Vikings clearly have other roster spots with more pressing need.

Hey, it really doesn't matter what kind of team the Vikings have on the field... Viking fans will pay to watch anything... 50+ years and never a Super Bowl proves that...

Jerome Simpson is absolutely not worthless. He is a perfect 2/3 wide receiver and is paid well under the average for one. He's athletic, cool-headed, football smart, willing to sacrifice his body for any catch and he's still only 27. A combination of him, Jennings, Wright and Patterson over the next 3 years or so would be a perfect combination as long as we have a quarterback who can throw over 25 yards (with accuracy). As long as his issue last month was the exception and not the norm for Jerome and his future, the wide receiver position looks to be a strength for the foreseeable future. This was a good move by Spielman folks.
