Red Wing Shoes recalling 110,000 pairs of work boots; steel toecaps could fail

Recall covers 114,000 pairs; only 2,000 have faulty toecap.

This recall looks to apply to their made in China models. But, I gave up on Red Wing when their Made in Minnesota logger boot cracked my toe in a normal 12 hour shift.

The Red Wing Shoes website shows an example tag from one of the affected boots (model 2414). It is clearly labelled Made in USA.

edinawater - I never said it only affected their made in China boots. Either way Red Wings are over rated.

The work boot factory is right there on highway 61 in Red Wing. It is the hiking boots made in China.

All work boots are made in Red Wing and a plant in Missouri. They have imported pieces, but they are assembled in the USA. Not sure about the other boots Red Wing makes.
