That's 30 cents too much!

1,000 of the 3,000 tickets sold are donated seats from Gophers fans who wont be attending. Very few people are interested in traveling to the toilet known as Houston to play a 6-6 team that has lost their last 5 games. Put the Gophers in a quality city against a quality opponent and they will get well over 5,000 tickets sold.

Gophers are not ready for prime time. Truly an insignificant, strictly minor league program.

Lousy way to finish a very encouraging season.

fraudexposedDec. 20, 13 6:17 AM

Exactly correct: the tickets "sold" by the U are being given away by the U in an attempt to mask the FACT golfer fans don't travel. All bowls should pay close attention to what is going on in 2013 in Houston, so they pass them over in 2014 and don't get stuck like the Texas Bowl! This is an outfit located in a 3 million person MSA metro, that can't even fill its 49k dinky thing in dinkytown during its "greatest season in 1/2 century."

Looks like Rand got called on the carpet like Reusse and Souhan, so he had to redact yesterday's story with this fluffy kid gloves piece! If the house is empty, the goofs must ne playing! lol Houston.......we have lift off failure.......

MN fans "don't travel" because there has been nothing to travel to or for... It's not like the fans don't care about the team and have been skipping seeing the Gophers in BCS and Rose Bowls these 40 years. Bet your ice house that if it were a top ten bowl, they would travel.

fraudexposedDec. 20, 13 2:12 PM

Sure they would, homerbie, but we will never know! You can't get the spuds to go to a game when the ticket free and the destination is 1000 miles away, yet, they are going to travel 2500 miles and pay $500 a seat and triple for meals and lodging? Sure....just like if you give them a shiny new stadiette, they will fill it to the brim and beyond every game!! Hilarious.......

Cost is a limiting factor to many of us retired fans. I went to at least two games a year from the 1950' on. One game a year with five grandkids and five adults----way too expensive. Lots of empty seats----how about a reasonable family package to fill those empty seats? Love the Gophers and Kill is doing a great job but they do need a better bowl over what they have limited control. We have to travel a bit over 200 niles, pay for tickets, hotel, and meals for all on a fixed income---can't afford it with rising health care costs.

gophypocrite - maybe your kids should kick in and take you, rather than you having to foot the bill. I take my dad to Twins games all the time, tell your kids its time for the new generation to step up!
