All performance critizing aside these guys need to take care of their long term health above all else. There is a lot of life after playing days are over.

What? Anywho, easy decision here John. Let me spell it out for you, R.E.T.I.R.E. Take care of yourself.

It's a no brainier, so to speak. Retire.

I suffered another concussion days ago. I'm up around 10 for my life, probably half mild ones. Don't screw with it. No amount of money is worth this. Even with a non-contact job, I'm out of work for a while.

Run don't walk. Get out while you still have your marbles. You have already made more money than most people ever will, your family will be fine financially even if you never work at anything again. But I'm sure they won't want to be wiping drool off your chin when you are 50 years old.

Candidly, he should have retired well before now. 5 concussions in 10 years or so is a potentially serious long-term risk for him. Hard to believe this is due to bad luck, so he may be even more susceptible to additional concussions. Even if he retires today, there has been a considerable amount of trauma inflicted with unknown long-term consequences. Do yourself a favor, young man, and your wife and kids as well. Walk away.

Time to pull the plug. Frankly the guy wasn't worth all the money we paid him anyway. His production dropped every year if you look at his stats.Get out now John and take care of yourself...

Too bad, but his long term health is of utmost importance. One thing the NFL could do (to prevent a future class action lawsuit from former players), it needs to address the size of players (330lbs + is not normal, nor necessary. There are too many roided out fatties in football). Set an upper weight limit and much of the injuries will decrease/disappear...

Not worth it. Long term health is far more important. I sincerely hope the NFL is trying to better address this growing problem. Risky business for sure but continued equipment improvements may help.

Take care of your health first. It's not like you need the money, with everything the Vike's through at you. Definately one of the worst free agent signings in this team's history.
